Time for a change !
As the year full of challenges comes to a close, let's end it on a happy note. Now, it's time to put you first. It's time for a fresh beginning to set new personal goals and improve the way you live. While making New Year's resolutions, emphasize adding new challenges to your lives.
- Be conscious of your daily routine and get rid of the habits that make you fragile. Ask yourself about harmful habits which generate losses for you and make you vulnerable. Replace them with more positive ones. For example- Spend no more than an hour per day scrolling social media feeds. Instead spend more time in nature.
- Live in the moment without regretting the past and fearing the future. The only moment when you can be truly happy is the present moment. Now is all you have. Understand its power and make the most of it so that it becomes worth remembering. Train your mind to return to the present as soon as you find yourself getting distracted.
- Display more confidence in your abilities. This doesn’t necessarily mean praising yourself at every opportunity rather it means having a healthy level of confidence by projecting an optimistic attitude.
- Spend some time giving thanks to nature, family and friends; to everything that brighten your day and make you feel blessed to be alive. Cultivating an "attitude of gratitude" has enormous benefits. Give more time to people who care for you as this is the best way to stay happy.
- Be led by your curiosity and keep learning new things which will add value, meaning, happiness and never-ceasing flow of energy to your life. Nurture your inner child and learn something new that you never learned as a child.
- Make smart use of your smartphones. Decide a day of the week, possibly on weekend, for "technological fasting". In general, don't look at screen for the first hour of the day and the last hour before you go to sleep. You may also define specific time in a day to read and respond to e-mails.
- Enjoy doing many different things everyday. Always stay busy but do one thing at a time without getting overwhelmed. Instead of multitasking, concentrate on one thing at a time because our brains are not computers adept at parallel processing.
- Start eating healthy and less food overall. Develop regular eating patterns. Eat at home, reduce eating packed food. Improve your health, fitness and well-being.
- Live simple and acknowledge your achievements. Tell yourself three affirmations before going to bed each night that you like about yourself or things that went well that day.
- Prioritize eco-friendly choices. As a responsible individual, resolve to take steps towards being more eco-friendly and help make the world a better place. By knowing that you are making a difference, you will indirectly boost your own happiness and sense of achievement.
